Who We Are ... Soups, Catering and Spaetzle?
Venus Gourmet Foods is a line of soups, catering and most recently gourmet spaetzle. Our soup is a line of delicious, vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free soups sold both refrigerated in 16oz retail cups and frozen in gallon bags. Chef owner and soup goddess, Leslie Vadnais is credited for being a naturally gifted, self-taught chef. She has created more than a dozen gourmet soups for retail including Tomato Bisque, Cream of Mushroom, Curry Coconut and Brazilian Stew. “That is the best soup I’ve ever tasted” is the most common thing we hear people say as they taste the Venus Gourmet Soup line for the first time. This hearty line of soup is flavorful and highlights unique flavor combinations.
Venus also provides innovative catering experiences throughout the Twin Cities. While it may not be truly Minnesotan to brag, we are merely stating the facts when we report that guests at our caterings consistently use the phrases, " ... best ever," " ... never had such delicious ...," to describe our food.
Finally, Venus creates the most delectable and unusual spaetzle dishes you can imagine. Beginning last year at the Minneapolis German Market, Leslie has taken the basic Swiss-German noodle and created dishes curried spaetzle, chili-peanut spaetzle, vegetarian mushroom stroganoff spaetzle and her most recent creation-chocolate spaetzle.
Chef Leslie Vadnais is a private caterer who devoted herself to her growing business and refining her unique approach to creating by serving high-profile clientele in Dellwood, St. Paul and Sunfish Lake (the likes of Minnesota Public Radio's Garrison Keillor and director of the movie Prairie Home Companion, Bob Altman, have both called Leslie "chef").
